Getting inspired
EUROPEAN SCHOOLNET ACADEMY
European Schoolnet Academy course material has been useful in team discussions and plannning teaching ideas for use in the classroom lab. Course themes have helped the team focus on how to develop innovative approaches to teaching in our context and we have been able to benefit from the experience and ideas shared with other course member teachers around Europe. Material from the course 'Competences for 21st Century Schools' has been used by teachers for creating multidisciplinary projects to be used with students in the new classroom. Ideas and experience gained from other courses 'Games in Schools' and 'Creative Use of Tablets in Schools' have inspired the creation of lessons plans supported by innovative technology. |
A visit to the Future classroom LAB in BRusselsHaving read about the future classroom lab in Brussels it was decided to make a visit to find out more. Special thanks to Bart Verswijvel who gave a guided tour and practical ideas on how to get going. Back at the school a team of teachers met and the project for our future classroom lab in Collège Denis Diderot was launched. Use of the lab called 'la Salle ACTIF' has been included in a national school tablet project beginning September 2015. Ongoing discussions with teachers across Europe from the FCL network labs have provided practical help for teachers discussing and planning how to create and run future student projects in this new context.

Future Classroom Ambassador
This school project was led by Helene Braund, teacher at Collège Denis Diderot, helped and encouraged by school colleagues who shared valuable ideas and support. Sharing with and learning from colleagues around France and around Europe has been and remains to be vital to the success of the project. Please feel free to get in contact should you wish for more information on setting up a similar project in your area.

Initial plans and a bonus Group SPaceInitially it was decided to adapt this classroom, situated next to the school library, into a future classroom lab but due to size limitations another room was allocated. However team discussions led to the request from staff to set up this room ready for group work. Teachers complained of losing valuable teaching time rearranging furniture in their classrooms and sometimes avoiding group work for this reason. In September 2016 this room will be ready for student groupwork session with round tables and a more flexible working environment. All teachers will be able to use this room.
