The presentation And EXCHANGE Zone |
Future Classroom ACTIFThe future classroom does not reject traditional teaching but adds to the learning process by bringing a different approach into project work. It is divided up into different zones. Students are encouraged to work on projects in groups or individually, to develop their skills and to use their creativity in the process. Independant learning and autonomy is encouraged and developed as well as speaking skills and peer evaluation. Teachers help students gain skills including digital skills whilst allowing them creative space during project time. This project aims to help students develop self esteem through presentations, peer evaluations and freedom to choose how to present their work.

Collaborative work in the Salle Actif includes presenting work to others. Students are encouraged to think actively about how others can improve and give ideas to help them go further. Being able to speak in front of others is a target skill in the school and is linked to fundamental work on developing self esteem and self confidence amongst students of all levels.
Next is the exchange zone, where students can research and discuss together. The flooring for the zone enables students to sit on the floor and not on the cold tiles and gives a warm atmosphere for discussing and developing projects |
The CREATe Zone
Projects allow students freedom in choosing how they present work. Students are encouraged to use their creative skills for project work, supported by technology including green screen technology, tablets etc. Those students who wish to present their projects in other ways are also encouraged to do so. Teachers aim to help students acquire digital skills for the future. New tools are presented to students from time to time. The main tools used at present include collaborative sites, survey tools, padlet, flashcodes, film editing etc.
The Develop and Investigate zone
Students have laptops, ipads and other tools available for help in research and project development. They also have paper dictionaries and encyclopedias should they be required. Al the furniture has been chosen to allow easy change of the layout and to allow students and teachers to adapt the space to the needs of the project.
